For an expanding young booking agency specialised in hiring cars, Standard Studio was asked to design a not so standard office. The office is located on the 5th floor of a office tower, situated in the office area of Amsterdam Zuid-Oost. The towers common areas are recently renovated by Jan des Bouvrie.
The structure and orientation of the floorplan of the tower led to the design which is orientated in a 45 degrees layout relative to the structure. By doing this a playful openspace office floor full of interaction arised which differs from the traditional way of designing an office. The floorplan exists out of three different zones, a main entrance and two wings. One wing is used for the workspaces and the meeting room, the other wing is used for shared spaces and gives space to the workshop of a befriended jeweler. Both worlds join eachother in the middle where the central located bar works as the social heart of the office. This overlap of both worlds is enhanced by giving both worlds a single blue color with merges into a third color in the heart of the office. The used colors are refering to the corporate identity of the brand.

In 2018 Standard Studio designed an apartment with a bedroom and bathroom combined in one space. The old wooden beams of the roofstructure are exposed to create a spatial feeling. Inside the shower that sits in the middle of the room a big planter is added to give the whole bedroom an outdoor feeling.
