Monastery Bennebroek

A former monastry in Bennebroek is recently transformed and divided into apartments. For one of the most beautiful apartments, located in the roof of the ambulatory of the former church we’ve designed the spatial concept and interior design.
With the casco ready at this stage we couldn’t keep the outcome for ourselves. The former sacred space has found a second life in a light spacious apartment without loosing it’s former soul. During the renovation some beautiful origninal artworks were found which have found a new life within the design. The contrast strengthens both the white walls and the paintings in order to create a tranquil space.

In 2019 Standard Studio designd an apartment with a bedroom and bathroom combined in one space. The old wooden beams of the roofstructure are exposed to create a spatial feeling. Inside the shower that sits in the middle of the room a big planter is added to give the whole bedroom an outdoor feeling.
